Our Timeline
History Of InterMountain Electric
Founded in 1973, IME has grown into a full-service electrical T&D/Power Delivery contractor serving utility and industrial clients across the United States. Our services are focused on construction and maintenance of utility power lines and substations, and industrial power, control & instrumentation services in renewables, solar, wind, oil & gas, minerals/mining and power generation operations.
Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, IME manages field operations from our branch offices in Wyoming, Colorado and Texas with field locations covering the entire United States.
IME emphasizes safety, quality, and trust to deliver client satisfaction. We reinforce these beliefs through workforce development by providing necessary training, tools, equipment and workplace conditions to assure safe and cost-effective operations in servicing the diverse needs of each of our unique utility and industrial clients.
Our senior staff have over 100 years of combined electrical experience and the longevity and knowledge of our leaders are the backbone of IME’s quality and consistency in expert project delivery for our clients
1973 – Intermountain Electric founded
1975 – IME originally incorporates in the state of Wyoming
1980 – IME expands services for oilfield and institutional customers
1981-1996 – IME grows with offices in Evanston, Big Piney, and Rock Springs, Wyoming
2001 – IME becomes an employee-owned business
2016 – IME acquires Prime Power and Communications, LLC
2018 – IME opens an office in Monahans, West Texas serving the Permian Basin
2021 – IME establishes its new corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas
